Cherokee Nation’s AmeriCorps Program will support AmeriCorps Members’ service within the Cherokee Nation Reservation. Members will improve school readiness for children, ages 2-5, living in communities experiencing persistent unemployment or underemployment. AmeriCorps Members will engage with students through provision of one-on-one and small group tutoring and assist in their overall educational and personal development. The program is fully funded through September 30, 2028. Applications are open currently and will remain that way until fully staffed.

Eligibility requirements for participation as an AmeriCorps member include:

  • Minimum of 17 years of age
  • U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident
  • Ability and willingness to accept placement at one of Cherokee Nation's Early Childhood Unit locations

For more information or to submit an application, please contact AmeriCorps Project Director Brooklyn Blossom at brooklyn-blossom@cherokee.org or 918-506-8278.
