Judge C. Bart Fite was appointed to the bench of the Cherokee Nation District Court in 2001 and served for 16 years. He graduated from Muskogee High School in 1977, Oklahoma State University in 1981, and the University of Oklahoma Law School in 1984.
Judge Fite then returned to Muskogee where he practiced law for over 30 years. He was a municipal judge for the City of Muskogee from 1998 to 2017, and a municipal judge for the Town of Okay from 1985 to 2017. Prior to becoming a judge, he was a Tribal prosecutor for the Cherokee Nation from 1995 to 1997. His invaluable service to the Cherokee Nation will certainly be missed.
