Established in the early 1980s, the landfill was developed in response to regional needs for solid waste solutions and has since served individuals and businesses across northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas.

Rates & Fees
Residential/Household Trash: $27.00 per ton ($8.00 minimum)
Problematic Waste: $37.50 per ton
Tarping Policy
Beginning February 9, 2026, the Cherokee Nation Landfill will implement a mandatory tarping policy. All incoming loads must be properly tarped prior to arrival. Any load that is not securely tarped will be rejected upon arrival.
Prohibited Items
The landfill does not accept:
Tires
Batteries
Wet paint
Solar panels
Bulk amounts of liquids
Bulk amounts of plastics
Refrigeration systems (including any items with a compressor and/or freon).
Note: Refrigeration systems may be accepted only with signed documentation showing freon has been properly removed by a licensed HVAC technician.
