The Talking Leaves Job Corps Center opened its doors on October 18, 1978, originally housed at Northeastern State University’s Loeser Hall. As enrollment grew and the need for expanded residential services increased, the center relocated to the Cherokee Nation in 1988, and later moved to its current campus in 1994.

Today, Talking Leaves Job Corps serves approximately 197 students and recently received a new five-year contract, reaffirming our commitment to preparing students for meaningful employment, higher education, and lifelong success.

For more than 40 years, Job Corps has transformed lives nationwide, serving over 2.6 million economically disadvantaged young Americans across 121 centers. Through innovation, adaptability, and student-centered programming, Talking Leaves Job Corps continues this legacy by providing career technical training, academic education, and essential life skills in a voluntary, supportive environment.

Eligibility (per Job Corps PRH):

• Ages 16–24

• U.S. citizen, national, or eligible non-citizen

• Meets income guidelines

• Needs education, training, or job skills

• Willing to follow program rules
